[Backdated to just after the Guardian's latest post. He speaks only five words, but those five have deep meaning, considering what and who he is; it is unclear whether he addresses the fae or the mortals.]

You are alone in this.

[The video comes on, and comes to focus on the river. There's a fideal drifting at the shore, singing and holding her arms out beseechingly. Her song is beautiful, sad, plaintive, filled with longing. Jareth chuckles softly as the images whirls and blurs; he's moving the communicator as he speaks.]

She seems lonely, doesn't she? What a pity.

[His legs and torso come into clear focus: he's bent down to prop the communicator up on something (a rock maybe), and is now standing and stepping back from it to face the fideal. She reaches for him; in response, he holds out his own arm. She looks hopeful drifting closer, and he lets her have that hope until their fingers just barely touch. Then he opens his own mouth.]

You remind me of the babe.

[She looks horrified, because his words, his song, also has power. Jareth's expression twists into a smirk as he continues the song. The video records the entire encounter, and the way the fideal is repelled by his singing. She leaves halfway through the song, sinking down into the dark waters, but Jareth continues to sing without his audience. When the song reaches its completion, he crosses back to the communicator, winks at it, and ends the feed.]

[ooc: the link above goes to a video on youtube. The link to download the song because I love you guys so much is here -- this is also how the residents of Demeleier will hear it, as opposed to the movie version (in other words, uninterrupted singing as opposed to having the little scenes with Sarah). Also, information on the fideal is here in the Demeleier info post.]

[ooc2: so, here's the deal: I have a petticoat for a costume that I would absolutely like to finish as much work on today as possible, but sewing on the layers of tulle ruffles -- 25 yards long each -- is a b!tch and a half. As such, my replies here may not be the quickest thing in the world, but I made this post to motivate myself: each time I finish a tulle layer, I'm allowed to come back here and tag in between. A good plan, yes? So, excuse the slowness, please!]
