[Backdated to just after the Guardian's latest post. He speaks only five words, but those five have deep meaning, considering what and who he is; it is unclear whether he addresses the fae or the mortals.]

You are alone in this.

Not the sporting type, are we?

[ It may sound like a taunt, but there's a hard edge to these words. ]

[There is likewise the same sort of warning tone in Jareth's voice. CLEARLY THEY ARE MEANT FOR EACH OTHER.]

Do you really wish to try my patience?

[ IT'S DESTINY. Just what Erik always wanted. Jareth's tone rather amuses the Ghost, in a small way. ]

You're too quick to take offense. It was only a question.

[ ooc; No apology necessary! ]

[GLORIOUSLY HIDEOUS DESTINY.]

It's merely not my sort of sport. But I imagine you'll have fun on your little hunt.

A tempting prospect, but better left to the young and impressionable.

[ But if he were twenty years younger and hadn't sworn to try to stop killing people, Erik would happily join in. Shame, that. ]

What, do you intend not to help then? In any manner?

[She has no clue what's going on precisely but Ellen's the sort to bash her head into brick walls if it's to help someone else.]

You would not wish me to, if I did.

[Don't mind him; Jareth's just being bitchy. Or do mind him and call him out on it! After all, he's annoyed enough to not even notice this is a new voice he's speaking with.]

So it's an excuse then. And you're perfectly happy with standing back and watching?

So quick to accuse, are you? Do you wish me to change my mind? Would you perhaps encourage me to join in? Think on it carefully, mortal child.

[Though this is voice, that doesn't change the brief silence that follows or the sweep of a surprised look.]

[When she does speak again, her voice comes through a little humbled and softer.]

I spoke too quickly, I apologize.

[She thinks on her next words a moment, not wanting to rush into them like the last ones.]

I don't want to change your mind, no. I was only speaking from my own sense of what others should do and that sense isn't always right. It was unfair of me.

[Ellen caught the mortal child bit as well and she adds gently.]

I would encourage you to listen to your heart. Mortal or not, we all have one of those.

That seems a common trait around here.

[It's said not as an insult, but in a tone of observation; quite a few of the people he's either talked to or observed share it. He idly wonders if it's a natural thing, or a side effect of the stresses of living alongside the fae. And the apology has soothed his ruffled feathers a bit, fickle thing that he is; as such, he's a little more indulgent with the information.]

I cannot fault you that, and I suppose the fault in your speaking thus is my own. Though brought here as you were, I am of the fae; to 'help', as you put it, I would not be on your side.

But I abstain from aiding them, as well; this is not my kingdom, and their Tithe not my own.
