Rowan. Always a curious material, is it not?

[The voice, warm and rich, contains a hint of carefully-crafted amusement -- a strange reaction to waking in a strange land, perhaps, but Jareth is not one to be outwardly honest about his thoughts and feelings.]

If course, there is the fact that I don't remember having an appointment with anyone who favored it. Now, I may have forgotten with all of the excitement lately, but a simple reminder would have done just as well, don't you agree?

[There are a few soft noises: the sounds of someone standing, brushing himself off, and putting his clothing in order. Then there is the soft clink of what almost sounds like glass and another chuckle.]

That's much better. Now, it's time for you to come out of hiding, isn't it? I don't like to be kept waiting.

With very few, very lacking answers to my questions, what else am I to think? The judgment remains until proven otherwise.

[There is a slight edge to Jareth's voice. He is one of the more tolerant of the Fae -- when the mood suits him -- but the lack of control over his current situation has him more easily irritable than normal. He is still smarting over Sarah's victory; this ensnarement on top of that has not done well by his temper.]

And don't tell me it's not fair.

You can possibly consider that the answers you want just aren't there instead of assuming that everyone around you is too stupid to see them. If you do do that, then it isn't fair. I mean, once you've been here a while you'll understand how hard it all is to explain.

[The edge in his voice grows hard, diamond-sharp; were they in person, Trash would see that the crystal in his hand has shifted, morphed into a viper, in response to Jareth's distaste. He does not like to be so questioned, not by someone clearly unfamiliar with him or with the Fae, and to brook his distaste is never wise.]

In answer to my queries, very few responses have been thus far adequate. Therefore the conclusion that those who responded know little to nothing of the Fae, or of their games, is fair indeed. I assume nothing, and have little tolerance for those who cannot sift meaning from words plainly spoken.
